Our Mission

A bright, welcoming help desk in San Diego County, where a friendly worker can point you to food, a bed, or care.

Our Mission

At Apple a Day, our mission is to connect people experiencing homelessness with the resources they need to improve their lives. We provide a single, easy-to-use platform that brings together shelters, food assistance, healthcare services, mental health support, housing programs, and community resources from across San Diego County. Our goal is to remove the barriers that make finding help difficult during times of crisis. We believe that everyone deserves quick access to accurate information, compassionate support, and a pathway toward stability and hope.

Our Vision

We envision a future where no person facing homelessness has to search alone for help. We strive to build the most comprehensive and trusted resource network in San Diego County, making essential services accessible with just a few clicks. Through technology, education, and community partnerships, we aim to connect people with the support they need when they need it most. Our vision is a community where every individual has access to care, dignity, opportunity, and the chance to build a brighter future.

What We Do

Apple a Day brings together homeless services from across San Diego County into one convenient location. Our platform helps individuals quickly find shelters, emergency housing, food programs, healthcare providers, mental health services, employment resources, and other community support programs. We continuously research, verify, and update service information so users can trust the resources they find. By putting critical services at people’s fingertips, we help individuals spend less time searching and more time receiving the help they need.

Mental Health and Brain Health Awareness

Apple a Day was founded by two students whose interest in neuroscience inspired them to better understand the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness. We believe that mental health is a critical part of overall well-being and that many individuals face invisible struggles that deserve compassion and support. Through education and awareness, we work to reduce stigma surrounding mental illness, trauma, stress, and brain health. By helping communities better understand these issues, we hope to encourage empathy, early intervention, and access to care.

Resource Directory

Our resource directory serves as a central hub for homeless services throughout San Diego County. Users can search for housing assistance, food support, medical clinics, counseling services, substance use recovery programs, veteran resources, youth services, senior services, and more. Each listing is designed to provide clear and helpful information so individuals can find the right service for their specific situation. Our directory is free to use because we believe access to help should never come with barriers.

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with organizations, service providers, volunteers, and community leaders who are dedicated to helping people in need. By building partnerships throughout San Diego County, we expand awareness of available resources and strengthen connections between providers and those seeking assistance. We work to ensure that valuable programs and services are visible and accessible to the communities they serve. Together, we can create a stronger network of support for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.

Why Apple a Day Matters

Finding help should not be harder than the challenges people are already facing. Many individuals experiencing homelessness spend hours searching for resources, making phone calls, and navigating complex systems while dealing with crisis situations. Apple a Day simplifies that process by bringing essential services together in one place. With the right information at the right time, one connection can become the first step toward stability, recovery, and hope. 🍎❤️
